Photosynthesis 2009

Here is a whole gangload of photos from Photosynthesis.  There are still more to be edited, but this is what I have done so far.  Some of the shots aren’t the most exciting since I was capturing the building of the Novatron Lounge from the stage of nothing but piles of stuff.

Zombie Sighting

My friend has been on a huge zombie and photography kick lately, so we’ve been out shooting a good amount.  Here are a few shots from Devil’s Night and Halloween.

Here are some photos from yesterday’s walk around my lovely Queen Anne neighborhood.  There were lots of kitties out enjoying the fresh fall air and sunshine.

Playing w/ Boxes & Tweaking Knobs

Here are some recent sonic experiments.  They are still raw, but they were recorded live.  I am still working on properly integrating the electribes into ableton.  For now, I feel it is more important to work out the sounds, write patterns, and practice those patterns.  Things are coming together.  Baby steps.

Happy Devil’s Night.  In Detroit, Devil’s Night is very real and not very cool, although there are sections of the city that could be burned down with no real loss to anyone.  I think I am going out as Officer/Trailer Park Supervisor Jim Lahey.  In honor of TPB and shit analogies, here is Jim “Shit” Lahey.

Here are some photos, some of which have been transformed, from my current neighborhood of Queen Anne.  My friend and I had some nice laughs out on our stroll through the neighborhood.  As we were enjoying some late night pizza, a street person walked up to us.  Expecting a request for change or food, we were totally surprised by what came out of the gentleman’s mouth.  “Do you have any ketchup?”  And he wasn’t eating french fries or anything requiring ketchup.  I guess he had a hankering for Ronald Reagan’s favorite vegetable.  Unfortunately, we were unable to help him out, so we sent him to Dick’s.  On the way up the hill, we encountered an older middle-aged man sprawled out in some bushes.  Inquiring if he was alright, he matter-of-factly responded “Yep, just crawling out of the bushes.”  People are strange.

Tunnel of Lost Boys

Photography, music, and life have been going well.  Also, I’ve been coming up with some ideas for new photo projects and scheming up some hustles, such as selling photographs and designing a better trailer park boys dirty burger shirt than the one currently being sold, to get some extra cheddar coming in.  I still need to upgrade my camera gear and get a video camera.  Working a typical job most of the days of the week isn’t even too feasible right now.  Plus, that type of lifestyle interferes with practicing music and photography, in addition to some of my other interests.  I want to support myself as an audio/visual man and artist.  Thus, I view all the work I’m doing right now as graduate school.  Anyhow, I am supposed to be up relatively early tomorrow for a walk, so I leave you with the photos from the tunnel party that I’ve went through so far.
